Preface
For my multigenre multimedia research project, I chose Everything Screenwriting, specifically, the intertwining of words and film and the necessity for adaptation, with respect to the writer’s life. In this project, I have produced four genres expressing my inquiry question, which led me to research. My question is how does one go about writing a screenplay? I have chosen this topic to explore the most interesting aspect of the movie making process, which is the very ‘blue prints’ of film. A film cannot be made possible unless it is envisioned by the screenwriter first. So to demonstrate my understanding I have written a poem for the steps of the screenwriting process, a news article of an award winning screenplay, an interview with upcoming screenwriters, and an original mini-screenplay.

This is Me
“What do you want to be when you grow up, Amber?” For me, this has come to be one of the biggest clichés out there. I don’t believe one can truly know exactly what they want to do with their lives at such a young age, yet quite frankly the subject is rushed upon students anyway. For me personally, my answer has changed with time, just as I have changed. I love animals, more specifically dogs. So, when forced to answer the big question, I would reply with a smile, "I want to be a vet." Throughout my school career, however, my answer has slowly been molded into shape and I have slowly started in a new direction. With all of my english classes I have come to realize how much I love writing. I'm good at it and the process comes easy to me. It has taken me the longest time to gain that confidence though. But this is the biggest challenge and I'm ready to face on the remaining struggles head on.

Acknowledgements, here's my thanks to you!
My eighth grade english teacher, Mr. Fattore, actually was, from what I recall, quite possibly the first teacher who has ever told me that I would make a fantastic writer. During parent teacher conferences he would tell my parents that he thought I had the talent to write a book someday and that he would be the first to read it. At the time, I was dead set on putting what he called talent aside and focused on science. High school came and english was beginning to grow on me. It was sophomore year that I, out of curiosity took up creative writing as an elective. I must say, it was a great experience, I wrote many short stories in that class, all with great reviews from the teacher. I even had some teachers who are intended on grading a paper that I have written but end up actually engage into the piece instead. Another crucial detail about me is that I have grown up in a family who enjoys going to the movies, all the time. We are always there opening night of just about any movie. If you come over my house, especially during dinner, you will get an entire movie recited to you, without having to watch it yourself. My brothers and I go at it all the time, spitting out favorite movie quotes back and forth, and following each other up to reply to another's line. And that’s when it hit me, ‘how cool would it be to write a screenplay?’ I suppose it was a matter of time, since my older brother has taken a career in acting, it was only a matter of time when I would get passed the film torch however my calling would be behind the scenes. I hope that someday I might become successful in writing screenplays. One day my name will be rolling on the credits. You will only succeed if you believe you will succeed, right there- that’s half the battle.
